<description>In July, two pit bulls attacked a mail carrier in the 3300 Block of Colfax Avenue North with the mail carrier ending up with 41 wounds. Three neighborhood residents came to the aid of the mail carrier by trying to beat the dogs back using yard signs, a bat and a car. The dogs were shot and killed when they charged police.
