7XX Newton Ave N Saturday 1/7/12 0601 hrs 12-006302
V1/female, 22 yrs, received a call from S1/male, 33 yrs, her ex-boyfriend, who told her to check her car & laughed on the phone. V1 went outside & saw a small fire inside her vehicle. V1 was able to extinguish the fire. V1 stated she has an active Order for Protection against S1. Officers were unable to find an active order on file. Value is unknown for the fire damage at this time. No injuries.

51st Ave N & Girard Ave N Tuesday 1/3/12 1615 hrs 12-002408
Officers responded to the above location on a stabbing report. V1/male, 41 yrs, was standing in the street & would not talk when asked who stabbed him or where it happened. V1 finally stated he didn’t have any info & just wanted help. There was a small stab wound to his upper arm. V1 stated he was homeless & did not have a phone. V1 was transported to the hospital via ambulance with a non-life threatening wound.

Dowling Ave N & Dupont Ave N Thursday 1/5/12 0052 hrs 12-003960
Officers were dispatched to 38XX Aldrich Ave N on an Assault report. V1/male, 24 yrs, stated he got off the bus & was walking home when he was hit on the right side of his face & the back of the head. V1 stated he didn’t see anyone & was unable to describe any suspects, other than one was wearing a gray hoodie. V1 stated he was hit with some kind of metal object. V1 had a swollen eye with a gash on the eyebrow & the back of his head hurt. V1 was transported to the hospital via ambulance.

Officers were dispatched to the above location on a disturbance which turned into a stabbing. Officers spoke to several people at the scene who stated they didn’t see anything. V1/male, 22 yrs, would not speak to officers, but handed over his DL. V1 had a large gash under his chin. V1 told officers he was not stabbed & then stated an “invisible” man did it. V1 was uncooperative & was transported to the hospital via ambulance. No suspect info.

38XX Aldrich Ave N Friday 1/6/12 1540 hrs 12-005587
Officers responded to a Shots call at the above address. Officers met V2/male, 10 yrs, & V3/male, 12 yrs, & learned that V1/male, 18 yrs, left before officers arrived. V2 & V3 stated V1 was looking outside & saw 3 male suspects, 13-17 yrs, on the sidewalk. V1 thought one of them was his enemy. V1 went outside & V2 & V3 stated they heard V1 talking to the suspects. One of the suspects asked V1 what gangs the victims were in. V2 stated he saw S1 get handed something from another suspect, which he thought was a gun. Victims ran onto the porch & into the house. V2 & V3 heard 4 shots, but did not see who was shooting. Suspects ran. No injuries. Two bullet holes were found near the front porch & a bullet fragment was retrieved from the front door jamb.

6XX Logan Ave N Friday 1/6/12 1957 hrs 12-005818
Officers were dispatched to an Assault & met V1/male, 39 yrs, who was bleeding from the nose & had a cut across the bridge of his nose. V1 stated that while he was in the entryway of his apt., 2 unknown males, 20-28 yrs, requested that he buzz them in. Once the door was open, both males punched V1 in the face & pulled out handguns---pistol whipping V1 in the head until he went to the ground. V1 stated S1 then pointed the gun at his head, but S2 stopped him from shooting. Suspects ran off. V1 believes the males are relatives of his girlfriend, but had limited info. V1 refused medical & advised that a friend was driving him to the hospital. V1 stated the incident occurred inside the front entryway where there are security cameras.

Dowling Ave N & Humboldt Ave N Monday 1/9/12 1919 hrs 12-008561
Officers were dispatched to a person with a gun & checked the area, but did not locate the described suspects. Officers went to Folwell Park & spoke to V1/male, 17 yrs. V1 stated he was getting ready to cross the street in the above area when he observed 2 males & 2 females on the opposite corner. Unknown S1/male, 20-30 yrs, yelled at V1 & pointed a handgun at him. S1 fired twice at V1 & all suspects then fled on foot. V1 stated as soon as he heard the shots he dropped to the ground. V1 then ran into the park. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate any shell casings. No injuries. V1 was transported to his sister’s house.

Olson Mem Hwy & Penn Ave N Tuesday 1/3/12 0100 hrs 12-002220
V1/male, 25 yrs, stated he met unknown S1/male, 25-30 yrs, at 9th & Hennepin & got into a cab with him to go to a party on the north side. At the above location, V1 changed his mind about the party & asked to be let out of the cab. As V1 exited, S1 implied a gun in his jacket & told V1 to hand over his wallet & drop his cell phone. V1 dropped the phone as instructed. S1 fled the cab & the cab driver gave V1 a ride home. No injuries. Loss included debit/credit cards; misc ID; $75 in store gift cards; $20 in cash; & a cell phone valued at $50.

25th Ave N & Girard Ave N Wednesday 1/4/12 1813 hrs 12-003601
Officers were dispatched to a Robbery of Person & met V1/male, 35 yrs, who stated he had been robbed by 3 males, 15-20 yrs. V1 stated he was at the above intersection when he was approached by the males. S1 & S2 displayed pistols & demanded his wallet & valuables. V1 stated he gave the suspects his wallet & gold chain valued at $3000. Suspects fled on foot. V1 was not injured.

26th Ave N & Broadway Ave W Wednesday 1/4/12 2300 hrs 12-004283
V1/female, 25 yrs, was walking home from the bus stop & was followed by 2 unknown males, 17-20 yrs. One of the suspects poked an object into V1’s back & told her to give up her purse. V1 stated suspects were wearing half ski masks. V1 feared they had a gun & gave suspects her purse. V1 was not injured. Loss included a purse & wallet valued at $75; $160 in cash; debit cards; & ID.

Officer was dispatched to the above location regarding a robbery of person. V1/male, 24 yrs, stated 2 unknown males, 23-28 yrs, approached him from behind & robbed him at gunpoint. Loss included a Smart phone valued at $400; a Sony CD player valued at $300; ID; & a wallet. V1 was not injured.

ROBBIZ (Cab Company)
23rd Ave N & Lyndale Ave N Friday 1/6/12 0105 hrs 12-005078
Officers were flagged down by V1/male, 36 yrs, a cab driver, who stated he was robbed at gunpoint at the above location. V1 stated he was flagged down by unknown S1/male, 20-25 yrs, who asked to be taken to 21st & Hennepin. S1 then changed his mind & directed V1 to 23rd & Lyndale Ave N. V1 arrived at the location & asked for fare money. S1 produced a black handgun & pointed it at V1, demanding money from him. V1 gave S1 approx. $150 in cash in various bills. S1 then fled from the cab. Officers were unable to locate S1 during a canvass. V1 was not injured.

36XX Aldrich Ave N Friday 1/6/12 1400 hrs 12-005524
V1/female, 40 yrs, stated that S1/male 33-35 yrs, known to her, came to her address & took 2 puppies from her home. When V1 tried to stop S1, he punched her in the head, knocking her to the ground. V1’s brother tried to defend his sister & was also assaulted by S1. S1 made threats about having a gun in his vehicle. S1 then fled with the puppies (2 female pit bulls valued at $500), in a vehicle. V1 did not require medical attention & stated S1 used to be a high school friend of her oldest son.

25th Ave N & Penn Ave N Friday 1/6/12 1800 hrs 12-008414
Officers were dispatched to take a robbery report from V1/male 17 yrs, that occurred 3 days prior. Officers asked V1 why it took him 3 days to report the robbery. PG1 did not think it was necessary, since only a phone was taken. PG1 stated it was only when she attempted to get a new phone that the phone company requested a police report. V1 stated he was walking home from the above area when he was approached by 3 unknown males, 18-25 yrs, & one of them had a handgun. S1 demanded that V1 give up his cell phone (valued at $300), which he did. V1 was not injured.

32XX Humboldt Ave N Saturday 1/7/12 0950 hrs 12-006373
V1/female, 24 yrs, stated she cashed a check & drove to her boyfriend’s address at the above location. While V1 was in the driveway counting her money, unknown S1/male, 24-25 yrs, appeared at the driver’s door, pointing a gun at her & demanding the money. V1 stated S1 demanded her money & wallet, & was pointing the gun back & forth between V1 & her 2 yr-old child in the back seat. V1 pled with S1 not to shoot. S1 opened the driver’s door & V1’s wallet (containing $293.76) fell to the ground. S1 grabbed the wallet & fled on foot. A witness observed a forest green Pontiac Grand Am drive off at a high rate of speed. No injuries.

6XX 29th Ave N Saturday 1/7/12 2110 hrs 12-006847
Officer was dispatched to Farview Park on the report of an Assault in progress. V1/male, 13 yrs, stated he was walking home through the park when he was approached by 3 males, 15-16 yrs, who asked the time & told him they were going to take his phone. All 3 suspects pushed V1 to the ground & punched & kicked him. V1 let go of his phone to protect his head. Suspects fled on foot. It should be noted that officer remembered 3 juvenile males in the park earlier that night & could ID them. They had been kicked out of the park for fighting & cursing about a week ago. V1 refused an ambulance. The phone is valued at $150.

25XX Vincent Ave N Sunday 1/8/12 1308 hrs 12-007396
Officer responded to the call of an elderly woman being robbed behind 25XX Upton Ave N. Officer went to V1’s residence after receiving information from a witness who saw 2 males in a vehicle who broke out V1’s car window. V1/female, 85 yrs, stated she just left the ATM & drove back home when she pulled into her garage & an unknown male was waving something she thought was a $5 bill in his hand. S1/male, 18-25 yrs, came into the garage & V1 didn’t want to be alone with him, so she backed out onto the driveway. S1 picked up a large rock & broke out V1’s passenger side window & grabbed her purse, which was on the seat. S1 got back into the vehicle he had arrived in & he & the driver sped off. V1 was advised to change her locks & cancel her bank account. Officer assisted V1 in cleaning up glass in the garage area. V1 was not injured, but her hand was a little sore from trying to hang onto her purse.

Broadway Ave W & Queen Ave N Monday 1/9/12 1801 hrs 12-008490
Officers responded to a Robbery of Person call at the above location. Ambulance was also responding as V1/male, 15 yrs, suffered a head injury. Officers spoke to V1 who stated he was walking home when he noticed 2 unknown males, 16-18 yrs, walking behind him. V1 believed they were following him & were going to Rob him. S2 ran up behind V1, placing him in a choke hold while S1 produced an automatic handgun & demanded his wallet & i-Phone. V1 gave them the items & S2 threw him on the ground. Both suspects punched V1 in the face with a closed fist. Suspects fled on foot. V1 was transported to the hospital for further treatment. Loss included $5 in cash inside the wallet.

30th Ave N & Penn Ave N Monday 1/9/12 1834 hrs 12-008525
Officers responded to a Robbery of Person in progress where 2 parties were holding down the suspect. Upon arrival, officers observed 2 males detaining AP1/male, 21 yrs, on the ground. AP1 was taken into custody without incident. V1/female, 43 yrs, stated she was waiting for the bus when AP1 grabbed at her purse & tried to pull it off her shoulder. V1 stated AP1 punched her in the face several times before the 2 witnesses tackled AP1 & detained him for police. AP1 was booked in HCJ for PC Robbery of Person. V1 refused medical assistance.

WEAPONS:
WEAP---Carry a Weapon w/out a Permit / Burglary of Dwelling
24XX Upton Ave N Wednesday 1/4/12 2257 hrs 12-003873
V1/male, 22 yrs, was selling marijuana out of his residence when he was robbed by KNOWN S1/male, 20-25 yrs. V1 stated S1 phoned earlier & wanted to come over & hang out, as well as buy some marijuana. S1 & unknown S2/male, 30-40 yrs, were let in by V1 & soon after, S2 pulled out a large semi-automatic handgun. V1 was told to sit on the couch in his bedroom while S1 tied up V1’s hands & legs. S1 removed approx. $800 from a trunk in V1’s bedroom, as well as approx. 5 oz. of marijuana & a bag containing a coin collection. Suspects also took V1’s laptop computer. A witness who was downstairs at the time of the robbery observed the suspects get into a white Pontiac Bonneville. V1 was not injured. V1 stated he keeps a handgun in the same trunk, but it was not there at the time suspects robbed him.
