19XX Russell Ave N Tuesday 8/24/10 2327 hrs 10-258522
MFD responded to a car fire & gasoline that was poured at this location. V1/BF, 37 yrs, reported that S1/BM, 41 yrs, her boyfriend, burst into her home & began pouring gasoline around the 1st floor of the home. V1 was splashed with gasoline & begged S1 to allow her to get their daughter out of the house. V1 saw her Jeep on fire outside the house. S1 was seen pouring gasoline on the car by an unknown witness. S1 did not ignite the gasoline in the house, but fled. There was an overwhelming smell of gasoline throughout the house & pools of gas were seen on the living room floor. MPD located a plastic gas can in some bushes 2 houses away with an odor of gasoline inside, which was collected as evidence. The Jeep had fire damage to the engine compartment. This incident was determined to be arson. Damage to property is $1000. Damage to contents is $10,000 for clean up of the area. No injuries.

32XX Irving Ave N Wednesday 8/25/10 1837 hrs 10-259401
Officers dispatched on the report of a person setting pine needles on fire. The fire was put out prior to officer’s arrival. Kids in the neighborhood pointed out S1/BF, 12 yrs, & she was transported to her mother’s house. S1’s mother refused to take her. S1 was released to her stepmother. There was a burn spot 2 feet in diameter where S1 was lighting the pine needles. No injuries.

6XX Broadway Ave W Tuesday 8/24/10 0026 hrs 10-257301
V1/BF, 31 yrs, was pumping gas at the above location when the vehicle was struck by a bullet, shattering the driver’s window. V1 stated there were 5 BM’s standing in the parking lot when the shots came out. V2/BF, 22 yrs, was in the front passenger seat when the bullet went through the window, but did not have any suspect info. The owner of the vehicle was not present but gave a statement at the 4th Pct. later that day. No injuries. No suspect info.

45th Ave N & Bryant Ave N Wednesday 8/25/10 2019 hrs 10-259538
Officers heard information on shots fired at the above location. Information was aired that parties were loading a victim in an SUV, & it was last seen headed in the direction of a hospital. Officers drove to the hospital & located V1/BM, 17 yrs, who stated he did not know who shot him or why. V1 stated he was with friends when a red boxy style 4-door vehicle drove by & a person shot from the back seat window. V1 & witnesses did not have any suspect information. V1 sustained a non-threatening wound to his leg. Suspects were GOA.

20XX Penn Ave N Thursday 8/26/10 1900 hrs 10-260652
Officers dispatched to an assault. V1/BF, 18 yrs, told officers that S1/BF, 18-20, the new girlfriend of the father of her babies, came to her house and assaulted her. V1 stated S1 was delivering clothes when an argument broke out & S1 punched V1 in the stomach, causing great pain. V1 was transported to the hospital via ambulance. S1 was GOA.

43XX Fremont Ave N Friday 8/27/10 1746 hrs 10-261798
Officers were dispatched to the sound of shots fired. Officers located a parked vehicle with the windows shot out & several bullet holes in the door. V1/BF, 25 yrs, stated she was sitting in the vehicle with V2/BF, 25 yrs, when S1/BM, 24-30 yrs, was on the sidewalk & started to shoot at the vehicle. V1 ducked & ran back to her home with V2. No injuries. S1 is described as having a medium complexion & medium length braids.

13XX Oliver Ave N Friday 8/27/10 1830 hrs 10-261864
S1/BM, 55 yrs, argued with V1/BM, 36 yrs, over money V1 was paying S1 for construction work. V1 & S1 are related through marriage. V1 stated S1 has a history of drug abuse & was hesitant in paying him that day, because S1 looked “out of it.” S1 became upset, got in his pick-up, & intentionally drove into V1’s parked vehicles. The 2nd vehicle had V1’s young children inside. There was damage to both of V1’s vehicles, but no injuries. S1 fled in his truck, but later called 911, admitting he hit V1’s vehicle, but did not turn himself in.

Dowling Ave N & Lyndale Ave N Saturday 8/28/10 1800 hrs 10-263419
Officers went to the hospital to interview V1/WM, 27 yrs, the victim of a stabbing. V1 stated he was walking & observed S1/BM, large, dark complexion, pushing a WF around. V1 confronted S1 & an argument ensued. S1 tried to punch V1 in the face, so V1 punched back, striking S1 in the face. S1 produced a knife & pointed it at V1. V1 grabbed the knife to protect himself & was cut on the palm. After V1 was cut, S1 fled. V1 transported himself to the hospital.

34XX Knox Ave N Sunday 8/29/10 1504 hrs 10-264042
Officers were dispatched on a shots call at the above location. V2/BF, 17 yrs, stated she was shot at. V2 waved squad down & stated a BM, wearing all white, fired at her. A neighbor stated she saw 4 BM’s run into the rear of another house (S1---S4, 17-22 yrs). Officers pounded on the doors, but no one responded. Officers eventually kicked in the door. 2 BM’s ran out & officers located 3 more BM’s in the house. Officers conducted a show-up with V2 & the witnesses. V2 did not pick out the shooter, so all parties were identified & released. No injuries.

21ST Ave N & Penn Ave N Tuesday 8/24/10 0248 hrs 10-257400
RP1/BM, 28 yrs, a cab driver for Blue & White Taxi, picked up the four BM suspects, ages 20-25, at the Fridley Super America. Suspects wanted to go to 22nd & Penn Ave N. When RP pulled the taxi up to 21st & Penn, all 4 suspects began assaulting RP & he fled from the vehicle. Suspects then got into the cab & pursued RP. The suspects abandoned the cab, but took the keys, & ran after RP on foot demanding his wallet & cell phone. Loss included a $550 smart phone, MN DL, green card, & social security card. RP refused medical assistance. Suspects were GOA.

3XX Cedar Lake Rd S Tuesday 8/24/10 2000 hrs 10-258860
Officer responded to the home of V1/WM, 34 yrs, who stated that while walking home DK from the woods, a WM jumped on his back & unclipped his wallet attached to a chain. V1 was unable to explain inconsistencies in his story. Also, V1 had abrasions to both hands on the pinky knuckle, which is consistent with a street fight injury. Loss is a wallet containing misc. credit cards. No further suspect information.

Penn Ave N & Plymouth Ave N Tuesday 8/24/10 2258 hrs 10-258484
V1/BF, 39 yrs, stated she was walking down the street when S1/BM, 17-19 yrs, & 2 other unknown BM’s, passed her. V1 heard quick steps behind her a short time later, approaching her from behind. V1 turned around & S1 reached for her purse. V1 took it off her shoulder to avoid problems & the suspect ran away with it. The other 2 suspects were not with S1 at the time of the robbery. No injuries. Loss included the $150 purse, $40 in cash, ID, & a cell phone charger.

7XX Emerson Ave N Wednesday 8/25/10 2240 hrs 10-259718
V1/AM, 25 yrs, made a pizza delivery at the above location. As V1 walked back to his car, 2 BM suspects, 18-23 yrs, jumped out from some bushes with a 3-foot long sword. S1 held the sword in front of V1 & demanded his money while S2 grabbed the money from V1’s hands. Both suspects then fled on foot. No injuries. Loss is approx. $50--$60 in cash.

19th Ave N & Penn Ave N Thursday 8/26/10 0830 hrs 10-260130
V1/Hispanic male, 33 yrs, was walking to the store on Penn Ave N. Unknown S1/BM, 30 yrs, & S2/BM, 24 yrs, got out of a vehicle & asked V1 if he wanted to smoke some weed. V1 said no & one of the suspects pushed V1 in the chest, knocking him to the ground. One suspect pulled V1’s wallet out his pocket & removed the money ($100). Suspect dropped the wallet & both suspects ran. No injuries.

35XX Knox Ave N Saturday 8/28/10 2147 hrs 10-263282
Officers were dispatched to the report of shots fired. V1/BM, 30 yrs, flagged down the squad & stated he was approached by 2 BM’s, 19-21 yrs. S1 had a handgun & demanded V1’s money & wallet. V1 took off his shorts & gave them to S1. V1 fled while S1 went through the pockets of V1’s pants. V1 heard a single gunshot as he ran. No injuries. Loss was $2, ID, & V1’s shorts. S2 acted as a lookout.

35TH Ave N & Lyndale Ave N Sunday 8/29/10 1939 hrs 10-264241
Officers responded to a robbery of person & V1/BM, 47 yrs, was found at this location lying on the sidewalk. V1 stated he was waiting for the bus when 3 BM’s walked up to him & punched him in the head 3 times, causing V1 to fall on the ground. V1 was unable to give officer a description of the suspects, except that one was wearing a grey sweat suit. Suspects went through V1’s pockets, but did not take anything. V1 was transported to the hospital.

29TH Ave N & 3rd St N Sunday 8/29/10 2210 hrs 10-264414
V1/WM, 51 yrs, & V2/WM, 31 yrs, were walking when they were approached by 3 BM suspects, 18—24 yrs. S1 was armed with a shotgun & S2 had a handgun. Suspects ordered V1 & V2 to the ground at gunpoint. S3 took a wallet; $10 cash; tools; a bank card; & a pager from the 2 victims. Suspects then fled on foot. No injuries.

41XX Soo Ave Monday 8/30/10 1810 hrs 10-265239
V1/WM, 60 yrs, called police to report that 5 unknown juvenile BM’s tried to rob him at gunpoint. The juveniles approached V1 as he was headed to go fishing. S1/15-16 yrs, pulled out a gun & demanded V1’s wallet. V1 has a permit to carry & pulled out his gun, pointing it at S1. S1 dropped his gun & fled on foot with all the parties. Officers located 3 of the juveniles, later ID’d as AP1/15 yrs.; AP2/16 yrs; & AP3/14 yrs. The 3 AP’s admitted being at the scene. All 3 AP’s were booked in JDC for PC Weapons. No injuries. No loss.

38XX Sheridan Ave N Monday 8/30/10 2108 hrs 10-265411
V1/WM, 34 yrs, reported that he was the victim of a robbery. Officer observed V1 bleeding from the head & V1 had several bumps & scratches. V1 stated he went to the corner store & while walking home, 2 unknown BM suspects, 17-23 yrs, came up behind him & demanded everything he had. V1 believed a handgun was in his back. V1 said the suspects threatened his life, using words associated with shooting him. V1 attempted to fight S1 & S2, but both suspects hit V1 & got him on the ground. S1 & S2 continued to punch & kick V1 in the head. Suspects took V1’s wallet, containing $2 & credit cards. Suspects also took V1’s eyeglasses & fled on foot. An ambulance arrived, but V1 refused medical treatment. Suspects were GOA.

45XX Colfax Ave N Thursday 8/26/10 1833 hrs 10-260647
Officers responded to the report of shots fired. Officers suspected a group of people who were mingling were involved & conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with 4 occupants as it pulled into traffic. Officers smelled the strong odor of marijuana in the vehicle & removed the occupants. Officers recovered a large handgun from under the front passenger seat & none of the 4 occupants had a permit to carry. A large bag of suspected marijuana was also recovered. Officers booked AP1/BM, 18 yrs, for PC Weapons & PC Narcotics. AP2/BM, 17 yrs, AP3/BM,18 yrs, & AP4/BM, 22 yrs, were all booked for PC Weapons.

26XX Oliver Ave N Friday 8/27/10 1334 hrs 10-261576
Police responded to the above location on the report of a juvenile male waving a gun in the air. Officers located AP1/BM, 14 yrs, who ran from officers. Police recovered a loaded .22 caliber handgun in the area where AP1 was running. AP1 was apprehended & admitted to possessing the gun, stating it was for “protection.” AP1 was booked in the Juvenile Unit for PC Weapons.

46XX Bryant Ave N Friday 8/27/10 1810 hrs 10-261832
Officers were dispatched to the above location on a narcotics complaint. Officers observed a man matching a given description, go inside the address when he observed officers, along with multiple other suspects. Officers went to a nearby address where they could see the suspects come back out of the house & pull a large plastic bag from the trunk of a vehicle which looked like narcotics. Suspects began walking back to the house when officers moved in & witnessed AP1/BM, 25 yrs, drop the bag removed from the trunk, which was later found to contain marijuana. AP2/BM, 17 yrs, was seen dropping what was later found to be marijuana & he then tried to run back into the house, but was stopped by officers. AP3/BM, 16 yrs, fled on foot from the address & was chased by an officer who witnessed him throw a gun. AP3 was apprehended & the gun was recovered. AP4/BM, 30 yrs, pulled a round, duct-taped object out of his pockets & rolled it away. It was recovered & found to be suspected cocaine. AP1 was booked in HCJ for PC Narcotics. AP2 was booked at JDC for a felony warrant. AP3 was booked at JDC for PC Weapons. AP4 was booked in HCJ for PC Narcotics.

4XX 23rd Ave N Sunday 8/29/10 1919 hrs 10-264226
Officers were dispatched to a person with a gun call. Officers located 2 BM’s that matched the given descriptions. As officers attempted to speak to them, AP1/BM, 18 yrs, fled on foot. A foot pursuit ensued & AP1 was apprehended. AP1 had a black semi-automatic 10mm pistol inside his underwear. AP1 was booked in HCJ for PC Weapons. AP2/BM, 21 yrs, was booked in HCJ for a misdemeanor warrant.

4XX Broadway Ave W Monday 8/30/10 0110 hrs 10-264586
Officers were on patrol when they heard extremely loud music with a heavy bass, coming from a vehicle parked in the lot at Taco Bell. The music could be heard beyond the 50 feet noise ordinance. It was the only vehicle in the lot at the time. Officers made contact with AP2/BM, 36 yrs, & a female passenger, AP1/BF, 36 yrs. Officers smelled the distinct odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle. Officers had both AP1 & AP2 step from the vehicle. Officers located a fresh blunt along with a handgun inside AP1’s purse. AP1 did not have a permit to carry. AP2 was tagged for Excessive Sound from a motor vehicle. AP1 was booked in HCJ for PC Weapons.
