Drive-by shooting from vehicle at individuals in front of the address. Kendal Johnson, BM/28, dead and Jennifer Early, BF/18 struck in the leg.

Naquan Brown, 35 year old black male died after being shot while standing around a vehicle.
421 24TH AVE SUNDAY 0041 HOURS 08-246321
Jerry Singleton, 36 year old black male w/33 CAPRS shot walking in the alley. Victim shot on 5-25 while hanging with a ganger.
ASSAULT
5TH & PENN TUESDAY 0240 HOURS 08-240038
W.R., a 24 year old black male shot in the arm by two black males, one known to him, who fled in a car which was found unoccupied at 9th & Upton. Victim refused to cooperate.
BROADWAY & MORGAN TUESDAY 2325 HOURS 08-241149
Five female victims reported that 5 black males and a black female in a black SUV hit their car with a shoe, sprayed mace on then struck their car with the SUV.
4047 ALDRICH THURSDAY 0600 HOURS 08-242790
Two black males threatened a 16 year old w/a gun during an argument related to a theft from a motor vehicle. A witness described the gun and a very similar looking 22 caliber was found in a house the arrested party was seen running into. Arrested was Javell Thornton a 30 year old black – who has six Illinois felony warrants one which they declined to extradite
10th & MORGAN THURSDAY 2250 HOURS 08-243606
Officers pulled over a vehicle traveling north on a south bound one way and were told by the occupants they were threatened w/a gun and robbed but could not provide specific suspect or incident details. Driver was uncooperative and appeared to be under the influence of something. Arrested was Eugene Johnson a 46 year old black male w/51 CAPRS for Driving after Cancellation.
PENN & PLYMOUTH FRIDAY 2344 HOURS 08-245025
J.B.a 22 year old black male w/14 CAPRS transported to the hospital by friends with a gunshot wound to the back. He claims he was shot while getting into a vehicle in the alley from Penn to Queen, just south of Plymouth. No suspect info.
29XX SHERIDAN FRIDAY 2216 HOURS 08-244844
15 year old black male w/12 CAPRS walking with a group of friends to Cleveland Park when a male came out of a yard and shot 2 rounds at him striking him in the ankle. Cleveland Park has been an area of high gang activity in recent weeks. No shell casings recovered. Park and Precinct Officers giving the area extra attention.

A 17 year old black male w/8 CAPRS and others were sitting in Cleveland Park when an unknown suspect started shooting at them hitting the victim in the shoulder.

J.E.,a 19 year old white female and another black female got into a car driven by known black males and went to a house where the friend began having sex with one of the males and then the other asked victim to have sex and she refused so he threw a table and window frame at her. Victim later transported to hospital by her friend.

17 year old black male w/13 CAPRS shot in the thigh while riding bikes with a 17 year old black male w/8 CAPRS who was shot the night before.

H,J.,57 year old black male flagged down by a black male known to him and two others who he gave a ride to his house and then allowed them inside where two of them pulled out guns and robbed him of his phone, keys, DL & $130.00.
29th & 6th STREET WEDNESDAY 0205 HOURS 08-241313
J.J.,a 25 year old black male w/32 CAPRS, provided a questionable story of being robed @ gunpoint by a 20-30 year old black male who fled with his wallet, phone and car which was later located at 26/Washington. CASE WAS UNFOUNDED
IRVING & PLYMOUTH WEDNESDAY 0345 HOURS 08-241364
J.M.,a 40 year old black female w/63 CAPRS came to the precinct saying a 20-25 year old black male beat her up and took her car. Victim was extremely evasive, uncooperative, intoxicated and failed to keep a consistent story.

C.H.,a 29 year old white female w/13 CAPRS, went to CUB foods to report she was robbed by black male who fled with her purse.

A 17 year old white female said two 16-18 year old black males grabbed her purse and fled with it. Neither victim nor a witness is able to ID suspects.
16TH & IRVING WEDNESDAY 1315 HOURS 08- 241726
A 15 year old Asian male said a 17 year old black male approached him and told him to give him is money or he’d beat his ass. Victim gave up his wallet from which suspect took a twenty dollar bill from and threw wallet to the ground.
6th & BROADWAY WEDNESDAY 1913 HOURS 08-242111
17 year old black male pushed to the ground by two 16-21 year old black males who fled with bike.
26th & PENN WEDNESDAY 1935 HOURS 08-242150
A 38 year old black female punched in the face and knocked to the ground by five 30-35 year old black males who then fled with her groceries. Victim believes the suspects are friends of a jailed person she testified against in a homicide case 13 years ago.

21 year old A,W.,& juvenile both black males had a car taken @ gunpoint by two 15-20 year old black males known to them. Later officers observed the car and three males fled w/one being caught. Arrested was a 15 year old black male w/9 CAPRS
3727 OLIVER FRIDAY 1130 HOURS 08-244174
Cab driver flagged down by two 23-24 year old black males who got into the cab and then robbed him @ gunpoint of $40 and a phone. Suspects struck victim w/the gun and demanded he give them the cab’s key which they ended up dropping at the scene.

C.S.,a 34 year old black male robbed @ gunpoint of his wallet by three 17-18 year old black males .
BROADWY & IRVING FRIDAY 2200 HOURS 08-244833
M.B.,a 22 year old black male was riding his bike when a 16 year old black male stopped him at gunpoint and demanded everything. When the victim didn’t cooperate the suspect struck him in the head with a pistol causing a large cut after which the fled and suspect rode off on victim’s bike. While the victim was at the hospital officers observed suspect however he fled on victim’s bike but was caught by a K9 officer. Additional K-9’s responded and located a 25 caliber automatic pistol at location suspect was last seen and the victim’s bike was also found nearby. Victim positively ID’d suspect, bike, and gun. Arrested was a 16 year old black male w/2 CAPRS including a Knife in School

Chinese Express driver went into the house to deliver an order and was punched in the face by two 25-30 year old black males. Victim fled and called police. Offices found the house to be vacant w/broken windows and a key box on the door.

Four black males attempted to grab a bike away from a seven year old boy who fell during the event and cut his head open.

SHOTS SPOTTER call saying the shot was from inside the house officers made contact with a male and while patting him down discovered 50 grams of weed and a 22 caliber revolver. Arrested was Sandino McCaskey a 22 year old black male w/7 CAPRS

CRT SW recovered drug paraphernalia and a loaded 12 gauge shotgun which was stolen the weekend of July 26th from 27/Thomas. Arrested were Lamont Marshall, Robert Tanna, Bobby Harris, Arthur Davis, Tina Davis, Teasha Adams, Patricia Warren, black males and females, 53, 48, 38, 37, 28, 25 years old w/32, 25, 34, 29, 54, 4, 45 CAPRS
2027 QUEEN TUESDAY 1827 HOURS 08-240726
CRT SW recovered weed, crack cocaine and a 38 caliber revolver. Suspect is a 29 year old black male w/60 CAPRS
2619 LOGAN WEDNESDAY 1640 HOURS 08-241890
CRT SW recovered heroin, crack cocaine, weed, and four hand and shotguns. Arrested were Dandre Stofer, Milton Peggs, Patrick Welch, Marcus Royston, Lawanda Eggleston, Chaun Eggleston, black males and females, 19, 37, 29, 27, 47 & 27 years old w/13, 5, 12, 4, 21 & 21 CAPRS
3455 QUEEN THURSDAY 0045 HOURS 08-242577
While looking for a vehicle suspected in a robbery the owners came out to speak with officers who then entered the house and found a gun in the bedroom of a convicted felon. Arrested was Christopher Porter a 30 year old black male w/51 CAPRS who just spent two years in jail for felony possession of a firearm and was tagged for child endangerment as the gun was in plain view and there were two young children in the house.
421 MORGAN THURSDAY 1523 HOURS 08-243125
MN Gang Strike Task Force warrant recovered weed, a scale, a 32 caliber semi automatic, 22 caliber rifle, a 9MM semi automatic rifle, with all being loaded. One found in the open and the two located under the mattress of a child’s crib and under the crib.
2022 QUEEN THURSDAY 1614 HOURS 08-243158
Directed Patrol & CRT warrant recovered weed, cocaine, money, paraphernalia, scales & a 30 caliber rifle. During the warrant a Rottweiler was shot dead after confronting the officers. Arrested were Zenobia Gilley, Linda Gilley, Michael Stampley & Tonia McCloud-Champion, black males and females, 50, 54, 53 & 43 years old w/18, 12, 24 & 76 CAPRS and a 58 year old black male w/15 CAPRS listed as suspect.
2218 IRVING FRIDAY 0055 HOURS 08-243766
SHOTS SPOTTER call with officers observing a male hiding from them and recovered a 22 caliber semi automatic rifle and a starter pistol. Arrested was Angelo Wagner a 19 year old black male w/6 CAPRS and three other black males ID’d.
3639 KNOX FRIDAY 2125 HOURS 08-244776 ASSIGNED: PARK
Dispatched to Folwell Park on a FIGHT call with remarks about a male throwing a shinny item to the ground and officers recovered a 380 Bersa & a 9MM Smith & Wesson, both loaded and the 9MM was a Duluth stolen. Arrested was Lamont McGee & Kendall McDaniel, 22 and 19 year old black males w/33 & 4 CAPRS for Weapons & a warrant and Lurking.
3232 QUEEN - Cleveland Park SUNDAY 2030 HOURS 08-247072
Officers on patrol saw a male acting suspiciously who then fled on foot and when officers apprehended him he had a loaded .25 caliber handgun in his pocket. Arrested was Rakeem Fields a 20 year old black male w/0 CAPRS
2930 BRYANT MONDAY 1346 HOURS 08-247713
Dispatched to a PERGUN call officers recovered a 12 gauge Mossberg and Remington shotguns, both sawed off and ammunition outside by a shed. Arrested: Eric Adams and Brent Alexander, 18 & 19 year old black males w/14 & 1 CAPRS
3232 QUEEN MONDAY 1934 HOURS 08-247995
On patrol Park Officers observed males playing basketball, one on a bike and one sitting on a wall. When the male on the bike saw officers he went over to male on the wall and said something causing him to get up off the wall, grab at his pants and attempt to walk away. Officers then located a loaded 380 caliber, next to where he was standing. Arrested was a juvenile & Tyrel Patterson, 16 & 19 year old black males w/28 & 22 CAPRS
PATROL HIGHLIGHTS SUBMITTED
3002 Vincent – Monday – 0800-1500 hours – 08-240747. The homeowner returned home and found his rear door kicked in and he was missing a 40 caliber Smith and Wesson handgun and a 12 gauge Mossberg short barrel shotgun. No suspect info.
1803 Washington – Wednesday – 2242 hours – 08-242405. Officers responded to a call of a party that was stealing metal from Scrappy’s and upon arrival watch suspect throwing metal over the fence. Officers waited for the suspect to exit the business and took him into custody. Arrested was David Smith a 40 year old black male w/128 CAPRS
Golden Valley Rd & Penn – Thursday – 1511 hours – 08-234110. Daywatch Broadway Beat initiated a traffic stop for loud music and as one officer was in the squad the other approached the car and as when he reached it the driver put the vehicle into drive and accelerated away. Officer’s then aired a pursuit which lasted approximately four blocks. Driver claimed to be having a seizure unrelated to his arrest and was seen by ambulance at the scene. Arrested was Mario McClendeon & David Spice 21 & 25 year old black males w/7 & 30 CAPRS for Flee and a Misdemeanor warrant.
1312 Morgan – Friday – 0832 hours - 08-244018. Officers responded to an in progress burglary of a vacant house and upon arrival force entry into home and locate the suspect. Arrested was Darly Deer a 33 year old Native American male w/95 CAPRS
2604 Oliver – Friday – 1024 hours - 08-244108. Officers responded to a burglary in progress and locate the suspect a short distance away from the house he’d attempted to gain entry to. Suspect was found to be carrying methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and had a warrant. Arrested was Matthew Meyer a 27 year old white male w/3 CAPRS
MISC – Stolen vehicle felony stop, guns out, found the driver to be Minneapolis Community Service Officer. It was determined the vehicle belonged to his parents and had been recovered in April but never reported by the family as being recovered. CSO learned a valuable lesson – let the police know that you found your stolen vehicle before you drive it around.

JACT - Mpls Juvenile Division, 4th Precinct Officers, Hennepin County Sheriff Deputies , Hennepin County Juvenile Probation and US Deputy Marshalls made the following contacts and or arrests in the Fourth Precinct. All warrants confirmed prior to beginning field operations and at each location officers explained the purpose and objectives of JCAT.
Female @ 6XX Russell. Active: Domestic Assault & Escape. Priors: Domestic Assault, Interfere with 911, False Information to Police, Curfew X2, Runaway X4 and Prostitution. Officers had info she may be here with a known adult with whom she is in an intimate relationship. This adult is suspected of being assaultive towards her and profiting from prostituting her. Both were located in bed in the basement in addition to 11 others in the home. Of the 11 two had Felony Narcotics , Trespass X2 & Disorderly Conduct warrants. All others were ID’d. The property is being illegally sublet where all parties listed pay cash to the owner to live there. Subject and the two others arrested.
Female @ 13XX Irving. Active: Theft & Escape. Priors: Assault 2, Runaway X3, Trespass, Curfew, Assault 5, Disorderly Conduct and Obstruct Legal Process. Officers encountered subjects mother, a sibling, another adult and the subject’s child who was being taken care of by her mother. The mother was characteristically uncooperative. Subject, a Taliban ganger, wasn’t home.
Two brothers @ 13XX 16th Ave. #1 Active: Assault Priors: Curfew X10, Tobacco, Death Threats, Trespass, Disorderly Conduct, Shoplift, Theft from Motor Vehicle and Damager to Motor Vehicle. #2 Active: Domestic Assault. Priors: Domestic Assault X2 and Curfew X5. Officers found subjects no longer live there.
Male @ 32XX Newton. Active: Escape from Custody. Priors: Curfew, Auto Theft, Burglary of Dwelling and Assault. Officers found he and another male as they tried to leave out the back door but retreated back inside where subject was arrested.
Male @ 40XX Sheridan . Active: Felony Burglary. Priors: Motor Vehicle Tampering, Flee Police on Foot, Curfew, Trespass and Public Urination. Officers knocked for a prolonged period of time and could see persons inside looking out at them. Officers persisted and eventually door opened and the subject, a known Taliban ganger, was located in bed with his girlfriend and arrested.
Male @ 9XX 26th & 29XX Knox. Active: Theft from Person. Priors: Curfew, Assault 1, Obstruct Legal Process and Disorderly Conduct X2. Subject wasn’t at either location.
Male @ 22XX Irving. Active: Aggravated Robbery of Person. Priors: Robbery of Business, Narcotics X2 & Shoplift. Officers located him on the 2nd floor of the dwelling with his brother and arrested him.
Male @ 16XX Plymouth. Active: Receiving and Concealing. Priors: Domestic Assault, Receiving and Concealing and Curfew. Officers initially spoke to his mother and two brothers who reported they didn’t know his whereabouts. Officers made numerous contacts and visited no less than six locations developing information relating to former and current girlfriends of which two he has children with. Subject finally located and arrested.
Male @ 12XX Knox. Active: Felony Financial Transaction Card Fraud. Priors: Knife in School, Credit Card Fraud and Theft X2. Officers denied entrance for a period of time but eventually made contact with a sibling inside and explained their purpose and obtained consent to enter and search. Subject wasn’t home and officers returned in the afternoon and sought him again making contact with a cooperative uncle/guardian. Subject turned himself in later in the day.

Male @ 20XX W. Broadway. Active: Burglary & Disorderly Conduct. Priors: Disorderly Conduct & Curfew.
Subject arrested.
Male @ 35XX 6th St. Active: Terror Threats. Priors: Curfew X3, Narcotics X3, Narcotics Loitering, Damage to Property X4, Tobacco, Domestic Assault, Auto Theft, Disorderly Conduct X6, Trespass, Assault 5 X3 & Terror Threats. Officers found family has moved from this location.
Male @ 26XX Knox. Active: False Information to Police. Priors: False Information to Police, Curfew X5, Assault 2, Terror Threats, Weapons and Assault 5. Subject not located.
Male @ 42XX Dupont & 29XX Upton. Active: Certain Persons not to Posess Pistol, Flee Police on Foot, Curfew/Park X6 & Disorderly Conduct. Priors: Curfew X12, Park Violations, Narcotics Loitering, Trespass X2, Flee Police on Foot, Tobacco Narcotics & Motor Vehicle Tampering. Officers found he no longer lived at the Dupont address so went to Upton addresses where they encountered confrontational and deceptive family. After obtaining consent to enter and search they found the subject not at home but learned he resides there.
